Syracuse University Equestrian Club
The S.U. Equestrian Club, including E.S.F., has ridden at STF and been coached by Denise Van Patten since 1998. Competing for nearly 30 years, the S.U. English Equestrian Club has matured into one of the top teams in its region. The team combines riders of all experiences and backgrounds into one diverse group. Not only do they emphasize dedication, aptitude, horsemanship, but also fun, friendship, and a passion for riding. Like most competitive teams, membership is comprised of riders who have been selected after a routine try-out process.

Camps
Throughout the year STF offers beginner camps for new students in order to introduce them to horseback riding. This may include riding lessons, stable management, crafts and educational games. At the end, for family and friends to enjoy, the campers may even proudly display what they’ve learned in the form of a “mock” horse show. |
Community ActivitiesLysander Parks & Recreation
Programs offered for Town of Lysander residents consisting of four sessions throughout a month. One of the programs is Introduction to Horsemanship for those 7 years and up (including adults) as well as Pony Play Date for 4 to 6 year olds. Both teach basic horsemanship and care of a horse or pony, as well as parts & care of riding equipment.
Open Stable
Every year we designate a special day for anyone to visit Smoke Tree and have a tour of the stable. Adults and kids are introduced to the staff and our lessons horses. They have a chance to ask specific questions about our program plus do fun things like horse/pony rides, face painting, coloring and games.
